USED Machine: collection only: from our Hire & Service: stock - this three stage, air cooled, piston compressor is suitable for charging upto four typical BA or SCUBA cylinders per hour. Its filter pack should be replaced after ten operating hours, in average, summer conditions.
Breathing Apparatus and Gas Detectors are likewise available from time to time but not all items are advertised on our web site, so please inquire if this opportunity is of interest. Warranties are during twelve months, from the date of sale, unless otherwise stated.
Mistral is a portable, medium duty compressor, ready to start, with its single phase, soft start, electric engine, complete with running hours clock.
It is intended for locations where a power supply (16A socket) is available, where Breathing Apparatus users, up to ten in number, need to reliably refill cylinders.
This compressor may be driven from a portable generator (greater than 3.6 KVA, 230V output)
Based on well-proven design, the Mistral operates at low turning speed (1.200 rpm); thus reducing both noise levels and vibration. It has a compact but ver competent purification system, which includes coalescence and particulate filtration, to ensure air quality meets the requirements of European, air-quality standards (EN 12021).
Mistral's Oil carry-over characteristics are low, compared with typical piston compressors; amounting to about 10 Mg/ Cubic Metre (10 degrees C, 55% RH); so the filtration system easily copes and it is very infrequent that the crank-case will require oil top-up. We suggest oil should be changed every twenty running hours, so that pump life is extended to or beyond the 20,000 hours estimated economic life of the machine.
Air Purification System
A coalescing prefilter (0,5 mg/m3 oil residual) is installed before the active carbon and a molecular sieve cartridge is incorporated inside the replaceable filter, which also includes a dessicant stage.
Filter life is ten hours run-time. Filter change records should be recorded and run-times remarked on the compressor's service card and air quality must be tested to conform with required standards. Testing is easy, using our RAE, reagent tube testing kit, or similar test kits and the required air quality standard may include EN: 12021 and with reference to BS4275.
If you need help with air quality protocol knowledge, please enquire, or refer to our guidance section.
Note: when using petrol/combustion engine versions, use must be in well ventilated spaces and the inlet filter must be positioned at least 1.5 Metres (up-wind) of the motor exhaust silencer. Compressors must not be used by operatives who have not been suitably trained and experienced.
