Divator/Spiromatic demand diaphragm rubber (460190140) item 13

The cuneiform diaphragm rubber seals against the diaphragm disc (item 8) which locates on to the guide pin plate (item 5), which also retains in place, the diaphragm spring. Assembly and testing is easy for technicians BUT you must know what to do and why, before attempting this level of repair!

  • Carefully removing the diaphragm assembly, from the diaphragm housing..it should be replaced exactly as shown: the nylon diaphragm plate locating on to the guide pin plate and the spring between them. The diaphragm assembly then 'clicks' back in to place, in the (bell) housing, or cover. The sealing edge of the demand diaphragm rubber must seat gently on the diaphragm disc.

Product Description

The demand diaphragm rubber must be fitted by a trained technician, according to the instruction of Interspiro's service manual. Although a simple task, safety depends on the technician's understanding of the breathing valve function and assiduity in checking that the diaphragm is whole, functional and assembled correctly.

The demand diaphragm mechanism amalgamates both the demand and exhalation parts, so that the breathing system is fully balanced and Work of Breathing (WOB) remains low.

Material is EPDM rubber: expected service life => 5 years. 

For the DIVATOR, typical breathing rates induce WOB less than 1 joule/litre/second; as here illustrated. This unprecedented performance depends on correct assembly and adjustment.
