Even though impact damage may not be readily apparent, any helmet subjected to severe impact must be replaced. Attention is drawn to the danger of modifying or removing any of the original component parts of the helmet.
Helmets should not be modified or adapted other than by fitting manufacturer approved attachments, such as visor frames and ear-defenders. Do not applypaint, solvent, adhesives or self-adhesive labels.
Inspection and care of the helmetThe helmet is a complete system consisting of shell and harness.The helmet’s useful life is affected by many factors including extreme heat or cold, exposure to sunlight or chemicals.
The helmet and harness should be regularly examined for obvious signs of cracking, brittleness or damage. When handled and stored correctly, and when free from damage, the usable life ofthe helmet is 2 years from first use.
Helmets may be cleaned with soap/detergent and warm water and dried with a cloth.They should not be cleaned with abrasive substances or solvents and must not be stored indirect sunlight or in contact with solvents.
