..are designed to protect the hands, keeping them dry and free of cuts, when doing tough jobs.
Meeting appropriate (EN 388, cat. II) cut, puncture and abrasion tests, XEROTECH Yellow gloves withstand permeability to 200 KPa water pressure - more than enough for diving purposes.
Made in a twice dipped, latex membrane, coated over Jersey-knit cotton, we developed these gloves in 1992 - not for warmth but for hand protection from cuts, abrasion, punctures and infection from water borne bacteria and fungal growths and spores.
For all practical, marine purposes; XEROTECH Yellow gloves can be regarded oil and chemical resistant, excepting for use against chlorinated hydrocarbons, Ketone, and other VOCs about which we will be happy to advise you in detail. The gloves may be safely used for protection against Caustic Soda solution and mineral acids less concentrated than 15% Molar.
Offering close fitting, snug, dexterous comfort, these gloves provide little impedance to writing and operating tools and instruments, whilst in the water.
They are mostly used by commercial divers and are suitable for use in all sea water temperatures above 8 degrees Celsius. Obviously, the warmth offered by this glove is limited and will vary, subjectively; from one diver to another. Knitted under-gloves may be fitted, to enhance insulation; making use in water above four degrees C. practicable.
Unlike XEROTECH Blue, or Orange gloves, these gloves will not resist Ozone and perishing well and regularly used, in most sea conditions, will likely have a useful life of about a year. Alike the other gloves, they may be cleaned and machine washed at 40 degrees C, inverted and left to dry, overnight. After use, in storage, a light dusting with Talcum powder will help them last longer.
Although made in Latex rubbers, there have been no known allergic reactions to these particular gloves and compounds - whereas; if you use latex, disposable, examination gloves, you will be aware that there have been allergic reactions to these, identified in a small number of cases, since 1980.
Just in case you might be interested; it is now known that such allergic reactions have been promoted or caused by the starch based dust, used to lubricate latex, disposable gloves. The mechanics and chemistry of this is well documented and, if you require information, please contact us further, via the enquiry form, on this web-site.
This size is suited to hand spans measuring between 212 and 230 mm (less than 9 1/2 inches)
